Fourth of July Baptism

I remember two years ago attending the temple on Independence Day. You can't do that in the States. It's nearly the same with baptisms. So it is a great pleasure to attend a baptism on the 4th.

Like Francois' baptism, a large group came to support Mariana. Everyone was eager to wish us a happy Independence Day. We enjoyed a potluck afterwards and I dropped off cinnamon rolls. Upstairs we found a treasure.

My mom says this machine looks like the one she learned on as a young girl. The leather strap was still in good condition and it ran quite well with a rotary bobbin.

I decided to rise my cinnamon rolls outside on the deck because it was 96 degrees. When I caught sight of something at the door, my mind immediately thought it was a dog and I moved to open the door to let him in. I haven't had a dog for 6 years! I miss my dogs.

I was surprised to hear fireworks at 11pm. Hurray!
