We needed to travel to Constanța, Galați, Iași, and Bacău for project meetings and audits. Some of these locations are new to us, and I am always eager to learn about the people and institutions in new areas. We also stopped by a great thrift store and Paul found an Italian suit for $9.
The elders in Galați were well-equipped to have fun with Skull King and ping pong. I like to see the Ravensburger branding on this box, meaning the partnership with Grandpa Beck is working.
We stopped at an Asian restaurant where I ordered chicken teriyaki. I knew it wouldn't be like Seattle, but it was still very good. When the waitress asked for my preferred spice level, I said 10. It was just the right amount.
Behind me was this plant that reminded me of our Camano Island house when we purchased it in 1999.
In Constanța, we stayed at a hotel on the Black Sea. We braced ourselves for the cold weather and walked out onto the break. Above is the picture from the break (our hotel is half blue/half white), and below is the picture from our hotel room on the 7th floor.
We met with a group of doctors who work in an infectious disease hospital. Unfortunately there was a fire in the ICU in the middle of 2021 during Covid. Seven patients died and the hospital was closed. They are still reeling from this event.
