Pattern Recognition

I love seeing the different concrete patterns in sidewalks around the country. These beautiful tiles were in Iași and reminded Paul of the Indian flag.


We found these puzzle pieces in Sighet.


Common in Bucharest is the spool shape. In quilts, I find it boring, but maybe if it there were an additional design element, I could be persuaded to make something.


You can tell it's winter with these long shadows. When we were visiting Galați for an audit, we were shocked to see an abandoned amphitheater next to the meetinghouse. The elders said there was a family of 9 cats that live here.


If I were a great photographer, I would find a way into the property to take apocalyptic pictures.
