We had no idea when we woke up on Sunday that it was a national holiday. But it makes sense since we saw seven helicopters buzz our apartment the night before.
When we arrived at church everyone was dressed in their traditional Romanian attire, even the men. I loved to see the embroidered white shirts, very similar to Ecuador. Then, as I was playing the piano for primary, Paul caught these going down the street.
Brother Doru even took our picture when we arrived. We brought cornbread for the potluck, too. A few weeks after WWI the part of Transylvania was taken from the Austro-Hungarian empire and given to Romania on Dec 1, 1918.
